Hi Andy

I have to agree with you about all the flowers etc, it really has become ridiculous. A few years ago a man was murdered around 30 miles away and his body dumped at a coastal inlet next to the coastal road near to where I live. I assume that the murderers thought that they would throw the body into the water and it would be washed out to sea and not be found but the water is only high at certain times of year. Within the next week flowers, balloons and a football banner had appeared near the spot. It looked more like someones birthday celebration than where someones body had been found. It was reported that he had just come out of prison for criminal damage and was suspected of trashing his ex-partners flat.

Wanting to outpour a deluge of cheap sentiment?
This was popular about 10 years ago: (it was an advert for Warp Records, but it sums up the flower-buying brigade).

little mixed metaphor there Andy, you can roll snake eyes with dice (double 1) but not a double zero. Adding the opposing sides of a die will always add to seven, 6+1, 5+2, zero there. I think you are thinking of American Roulette, European roulette usually only has a single zero.
