Oh, I love the way Halfie follows the Waterways Top Twenty with such eagerness!
It takes me back to my schooldays. At boarding school in the early 1960s we were addicted to the Top Twenty, in the days when we'd have arguments about whether these new-fangled 'Beatles' were actually wearing wigs. (My position: no, of course not. But the Rolling Stones, yes, they did.)
Halfie, you should label your posts (perhaps label them 'toptwenty'?) so that as time goes by we can list them (and only them) and see how the chart changes over time.
Incidentally, what surprised me about the waterways chart, when it got going, was how widely read Ernie Williams' Ten Bob Note is. It's not a true blog, so I found it a bit fiddly to start with and didn't read it much in the early days. But thanks to the chart I now read him regularly. (Still wish he was a blog though.)
Of course the advantage of a website in hit terms is that readers have to go there (and the waterways ranking thing then gets seen by lots of people). Blogs can be read via feedburner and such like, and those readings aren't registered by the ranking site.

Oh my, that is splendid. Fear I've dropped out of the top 20 this week though. Must write more polemics.
