No posts since Friday, but I'm still here. I haven't gone away.
It's strange, but now that I'm close to Granny Buttons and have more free time, I'm finding it harder than ever to post new stories to to the blog.
It's not a lack of things to write about. I've got reasons for writing spilling out of my head and onto the floor. Excuse me, I need to get the mop.
The good news is Granny is continuously cruising again, after a couple of months of marina fever, and I'm off up the Trent & Mersey Canal. This should help me get started again.
The bad news is - well, nothing, really. Even the likelihood of being iced in over Christmas could be good for Granny - although I'm hoping to get to Manchester for the New Year.

Good to hear you are on the move. Hope you get up this way OK. Why not stop at BMBC for a night or two at the end of the Runcorn arm of the Bridgewater. Club is open at weekends and welcomes visitors at any time. Have fun x n.b. Cosy Toes

I thought as much! To coin the words of an old song... "You chose a fine time to cast off Granny B!"
Dosn't quite scan, but you know what I mean.
Have a good Christmas wherever you get to.

Not very far, Cap'n. Only to outside Barton Marina, just west of Burton. But to be fair
1: At time of writing there's hardly any ice or snow on the main line there.
2: I haven't yet set off on my Christmas trip.
I'm watching anxiously. I was thinking either Manchester or the Four Counties Ring.
But it might have to be Barton if things get worse tonight and don't improve...

How far did you get before the ice caught you in its chilly grip?

Good to hear you're on the move - thought you had your Willington boots on for a while.

Frankly, we are sorry to see him go (but we still have his cottage so we know he'll be back).
Have a great time Andrew. I am already looking forward to posts about NYE in Manchester.

I'll second that. It's a little un-nerving to have a stationary Granny Buttons :-)
