There seems to be something wrong with comments on some of my posts. I'm not sure why they've disappeared. I'm investigating.
I've disabled some of the latest features of commenting and the comments have reappeared! Hmm!
By the way, Granny Buttons runs on TypePad, which is not free, but which I commend. (A basic sub is about £3.50/month). It has brilliant anti-spam filters, and I only seem to get one or two spam comments a month now. Perhaps the new TypePad Connect feature still has one or two bugs?
But even the standard commenting system is good. I can leave comments open and you don't have to enter those infuriating 'captcha' codes, nor even leave an email address if you don't want to. You can also enter basic HTML formatting like bold/italic, and URLs/web addresses should automatically appear as links.

I should email my pal about this.

Halfi, An interesting point, thanks!
The URL here was the original draft one for the post, and I only changed the headline at the last moment before posting, before anyone had commented.
The recent upgrade of Typepad (complete with threaded comments) does now allow me to change the URL if I wish, and technically it shouldn't make a difference. Still, you could well have found a bug with their programming!
I'm going to undo the new comments system (which allows threading, links, icons and formatting such as bold/italic) and return to the old plain text comments for now.

Just a thought, Andrew, could it have anything to do with the fact that the url of your "paint your wagon" post is this: http://www.grannybuttons.com/granny_buttons/2009/11/graham-learns-how-to-look-after-jannocks-paint.html
which seems to have a different title? If you change your post title at some point do comments end up in a parallel universe?
