Take the plunge: Canal boat living - The Independent (property supplement)
Well, I'll be darned. Granny Buttons gets a namecheck (and link) in the Independent today! So does Nick Corble, amongst others. I think it's the first time Granny's featured in a mainstream newspaper.
And no mention of the dreaded word 'barge' either, nor any confusion between canal boats and river/houseboats. Well done, Jimmy, pretty good!
I was interested in the photo they used. I'm rubbing both my neurons together to think if I recognise the boat in the photo. Could it be Ebony, near Lower Heyford on the Oxford Canal?

Actually, on second thoughts not sure it is this boat ...

Well spotted Andrew, despite assurances otherwise the journalist didn't tell me when it was published!
The boat is Mr. Badger at Ayhno, owned by Patrick and Jane Cruise quoted in the article (Allan Ford's photo - again, not acknowledged despite assurances otherwise), although their quotes are taken from a series of interviews we did for them for BBC Three Counties Radio which can be accessed via their website under the People section - it guess this is how journalism works these days, feeding off each other - although I wonder if they had the courtesy to ask first (almost certainly not as they didn't have contact details!).
