Tonight - 3-4am - is the lunar eclipse. A couple of hours before and afterwards, the light for photography is wonderful, just wonderful.
And here am I, stuck in Norfolk, far away from Granny Buttons and my tripod.
I love the moon. He's my boyfriend, the only man I ever loved. I met him shortly after starting night photography, and in an instant I knew I wanted to share my nights with him.
I think our greatest moment was on the Oxford Canal a couple of years back. We consummated our passion at Cropredy Lock, and it took only 15 seconds, even though he was only half-open to me that night. Think how it could have been if he'd been ready to eclipse! Strong, muscular shadows embracing the scene, and helping to drown out the ugly yellow streetlighting.
And just think what he could do tonight, if only he and I were together canalside at Middlewich!
He's the greatest illumination a canal photographer can have, greater than any misty dawn.
Oh, oh, Man in the Moon, you are wonderful!

Hummm
No "broad" could match the beauty you portray in this picture. You are Andrew, a very talented man!

Oh.
First time ever made trembly by a boating blog and you tell me it's a music-hall song??!!
Huh! How very disappointing.....:-)
(goes back to marking books)

quoting Alex: "pretty broads" - I've yet to see one if there is such - certainly not seen any in Norfolk!

Hmm; thinking about it now, I suspect not many people will know that 'My boyfriend's the man in the moon' was a popular Victorian Music Hall song.
This isn't Brokeback Canal!

Andrew,
Do the wide open skies over Norfolk with it's pretty broads not entice you out to play !

Stop wishing you were at Middlewich, Andrew. This part of the country was covered with cloud last night so the Man in the Moon would have eluded you!
