2am, Sept 28th 2007 in the moonlight. Bosley Lock No. 4.
In The Meaning Of Liff, 'Nan Horon' is defined as:
A tiny valve concealed in the inner ear which enables a deaf grandmother to converse quite normally when she feels like it, but which excludes completely anything that sounds like a request to help with laying the table.
I can imagine the boat Nan Horon busily working through Bosley Locks while the ghost of John Jackson sits on his own bench quietly ignoring their requests for help with the paddles and lock gates.
Nan Horon, it turns out, was built at Piper's boatyard at Red Bull, according to David Piper's history of the Piper Boat Owners Club.
There's larger (and more recent) Nan Horon (also a Piper boat) here.

I haven't been up to much lately. Eh. I just don't have anything to say right now. I've pretty much been doing nothing worth mentioning. That's how it is. I haven't gotten anything done.
