At the moment I'm No. 1 in Google for narrowboat for rent.
The blog posts concerned (mainly this one), are rather old. It looks pretty obvious to me that I'm simply writing about someone else who had used to have a boat for rent, not that I myself was the renter.
But it's not obvious to some. Recently I was getting a couple of emails a week asking for more details on "your boat for rent". Now I'm getting phone calls about it. Three calls this week alone.
None of the people who called seemed very apologetic or embarrassed that they misunderstood, but I hope that I was reasonably polite to them. I did say sorry for wasting their time, although I don't know if I needed to.
I could simply remove the blog posts but I think they have other useful information in them. For example, in one of the posts I linked to a liveaboard rental agreement that someone else put online when they rented out their own boat three years ago. Isn't that interesting and useful?
Besides, I like meeting new people, of all stripes.

These days, the world is expected to be how you google it.
