A significant stoppage announcement on Waterscape:
The towpaths and navigations which form part of the Olympic Park will be closed from 2nd July 2007 until after the 2012 Games. These include the waterways which make up the Bow Back Rivers - The Old River Lea, City Mill River, Waterworks River, Bow Back River and Pudding Mill River.
I recommend you take attention of this: take a walk here on the BBR (Bow Back River) before 2nd July, take your camera, and take loads of photographs! These photos will be of great interest come 2012, when the landscape here will surely be very different and the world will pay attention to the difference.
There's a useful PDF map here. Print it out for your walk. It's a bit diagrammatic though, and judging by this image on Waterscape we could do with a better streetmap of the area. Anyone know of one on PDF, ready for printout?

If you'd read my tumblr blog (http://canalkeeper.tumblr.com/) you'd have at least been more ahead with this and other news on the Bow Back Rivers :-)
