However, once the cabin was removed, it was found that the hull itself had severely buckled due to the intensity of heat plus the cold fire hoses being played on the side to extinguish the blaze. This is going to have to be straightened before a cabin can be built on top.
However, Malcolm’s now landed a long-term full time contract on which he has been working 7 days a week. This commitment meant he had to drop out of our project. We have now had to shell out £3,200 (from only £5,000 raised) in labour costs to a boatbuilder in order to get the project completed.
So we now have additional time pressure to get things completed. However, we have a lot of commitment from the volunteers and from businesses, and we are determined to get the job done.
