Boat on fire at Honeystreet

Fire destroys narrowboat - Wiltshire Gazette & Herald

This happened last night at Honeystreet on the Kennet & Avon Canal (my, how quickly the weekly local newspapers can publish these days, thanks to the web).  The 45ft boat involved might even be one of those pictured in the Google Maps satellite closeup here.

I don't suppose we'll hear more from the paper on this story - small earthquake, nobody dead - but it would be good to have a blogger expanding on the story.   No Problem is in the area between Devizes, Honeystreet and Pewsey for the winter and Sue yesterday returned to blogging after a fortnight's family Christmas break.

A week ago I was at Caggy's boatyard, taking a look at Emerald, also burned at its moorings.  We know a fair bit about the ongoing story of Emerald, thanks to its Friends.  What's the human story behind the Honey Street Wharf fire, and can we learn lessons?
