The Nantwich Chronicle reports today about 'furious residents [who] have vowed to fight on in a bid to halt the 'Swanley Armada'.
Interestingly, the story has the byline of Alan Jervis, a familiar - nay, famous - name in waterways restoration circles, having won the Cyril Styring Trophy in 1998. I'm not sure if he's given up volunteer work to finally earn a crust as a local paper hack, or if that's another Alan Jervis entirely. But Jervis's don't exactly come in six-packs in this Kingdom. (Well, beer doesn't either, it comes in four-packs, but the American metaphor has stuck)
